Continue reading this FAQ page where we answer some your top questions asked.

1. What is the Amazon Seller registration process like?

You can only start listing products after you have completed these steps:

(1) Register for your Amazon Selling Account
(2) Go through Seller Identity Verification (SIV)
(3) Update your information on Seller Central

Download the registration guide here for more information on each step.

2. How long will the Amazon Seller Account registration process take?

The registration process usually takes from 24 hours to 1 week. However, it can take up to 2-3 weeks if further verification and documents are required.

To avoid any delays, please make sure to follow the steps and requirements stated in our Amazon Seller Registration Guide here.

3. What’s the difference between an individual and professional seller account?

The Individual plan costs US$0.99 per sale, while sellers using the Professional plan pay US$39.99 per month, no matter how many items you sell. If you sell more than 40 items a month, and wish to have access to brand tools such as advertising features specific to brand stores, the Professional option makes a lot of sense. Whichever plan you select, don’t worry about making the wrong choice — you can change plans at any time. Learn more about selling plans here.

4. When will I be charged the monthly selling fee?

You will only be charged when you have completed the registration process and all seller documentation has been approved.

5. If my business license address is different from my actual office address, which one should I fill in?

Fill in an address for which you can provide utility bills for water, electricity, coal/natural gas, or Internet service. Make sure that the address you provided allows you to receive an address OTP from Amazon.

6. Why is my identity document verification rejected?

These are some things you need to take note of for verification:

• The document must be not expired
• The full name of the document should match the full name on your registration
For passport: Please ensure that the passport has the bearer’s signature
For driver’s license or identity card: Both sides of the card should be uploaded
• All documents must be high quality, colored, and unobstructed

Download the registration guide here for detailed information.

7. What if my driver’s license does not have an expiry date?

You may enter a date 3 months from the date of application of your Amazon account.

8. What is considered a valid additional verification document?

A bank account statement, credit card statement, or Payoneer statement may be considered valid additional verification documents. Please note that:

• The name of the company or point of contact should either match the business name or point of contact name provided during registration.
Hide the account number and monetary amounts, but the rest of the document must be visible.
• Document must be issued within the past 180 days.
• Document must be in one of the following languages: Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, or Spanish. If it is not in one of these languages, provide a notarized translation of your document.
• Accepted formats are .png, .tiff, .tif, .jpg, .jpeg, and .pdf
• E-statements are accepted, but have to unaltered (i.e. not cropped)

Refer to our registration guide here for more information.

9. What should I do if I see the “Unable to verify account information” error message?

This means that you have failed SIV as a result of too many resubmission attempts with documents that do not fit in all requirements. You will need to:

• Reach out to Seller Support via the Contact Support option in Seller Central;
• Or state your exact SIV issue with your registered email to trms-siv-sesunoir@amazon.com

10. What happens post-seller verification?

Upon passing SIV, you will be able to access Seller Central. You will see notifications on the Homepage prompting you to take action e.g. to update your deposit method, provide tax information and list your emergency contact number. It is important to complete all actions prompted before you begin listing your products on Amazon.

Download the registration guide here for step-by-step information to help you get started.

11. I have completed account registration, but my account has been deactivated. What should I do?

Amazon may suspend sellers accounts to request for more information in order to maintain a trustworthy store for buyers and sellers. You can check the "Performance Notification" in Seller Central for detailed reasons on why your account has been suspended, and prepare the required corresponding materials to file an appeal and reactivate your account.

12. How can I reactivate an Amazon seller account that I created previously?

You will not be able to reactivate a closed account. To reactivate a suspended or deactivated account, sign in to Seller Central. You will need to provide the additional documents or make corrections to your account for issues listed under “Performance Notifications” to submit an appeal for an account review.
